Aims & Scope

Research on Marxism and Global Governance* welcomes papers rooted in any discipline—such as Marxist theory, international relations, political science, economics, environmental studies, and law—provided there is a clear connection to Marxist theoretical frameworks and the work develops strong implications for global governance practice or related policy-making. Papers are expected to contribute to the advancement of theory and practice at the intersection of Marxism and global governance on a global scale, and are not confined by “regional study” labels.

We embrace rigorous research across the full spectrum of methodological approaches, including qualitative studies, quantitative analyses, as well as review articles and conceptual works. The journal has a long-standing focus on papers addressing international and comparative issues in Marxism and global governance, while also publishing research situated within a single country or region. We take pride in our global inclusivity and prioritize publishing work from regions of the world that are often neglected in mainstream global governance research. We strongly encourage authors to contextualize their studies by integrating regional, historical, and cultural specificities to enhance the practical relevance and local adaptability of their findings.

Interest Fields include but are not restricted to:

- Exploration and contemporary interpretation of global governance thought in Marxist classical theories

- Innovative development and practical application of Marxist globalization theory

- Marxist analysis of global economic governance

- Global environmental governance and ecological protection

- Global digital governance

- Transnational public crisis governance

- Marxist pathways for the reform of international organizations and the reconstruction of the global governance system

- Marxist governance concepts and practices in the “Belt and Road” Initiative

- Global social governance

- Application of Marxist methodology in global governance research

- Construction of responsible and sustainable global governance models

- Marxist theoretical support and practical experiences for developing countries’ participation in global governance
