Abstract

Although farmers do not have the ownership of farmland in China, the agricultural land is irreplaceable in the traditional farmers’hearts, whether as a productive factor or the last subsistence guarantee for farmers. From the way of circulation, subcontracting is the primary form. In this way, farmland has been continuously concentrated to master-hands of farming, and the proportion of farmers with moderate scale operation has increased significantly. This is fully in line with the“Schultz hypothesis”, that is, the principle of efficiency priority. From the process of rural land circulation, although the government provides strongly supports, it is still a long way to go for the formation of rural land circulation market, due to the small scale of cultivated land and the low level of economic development. From the perspective of village, affected by geographical location, historical reasons and other impacts, there are obvious regional differences between different villages, structure and quality of household farmland operation and the frequency and intensity of land circulation.
